I knew I wanted to be a counsellor from a young age. When I was 11, my teacher asked what I wanted to be, and my immediate answer was agony aunt. Even back then my main passion was hearing other people’s problems and being able to help them however I could. I went on to study sociology and psychology ahead of initially pursuing a career in teaching.
After a few years, I remembered what I was really destined to be: a counsellor. I realised how passionate I had always been about that area, how curious I was about the human condition, and how people would naturally come to talk to me about their problems. They appreciated the way I instinctively saw the heart of the problem right away. I always see the enormous potential in people and get so much joy from helping them pull back the curtains and see their future. There is nothing more fulfilling for me than going on that journey with them.
